How to send ussd request while smsd is running?

There is a configured gammu as a gammu-smsd daemon connected to mysql, outgoing and incoming messages are processed without problems, but there is one "but", I sometimes need to make ussd requests, but when the daemon is turned on, the device (huawei e173) becomes busy and execute gammu getussd there is no possibility, gammu mysql-inject which is offered in mana, only allows you to send sms, how to be in this case?
ps tried it before gammu, gnokii, so there he doesn’t know how to make ussd requests at all, although he also fastens well to mysql for sms

I haven't tried gammu (only gnokii sometime, when it wasn't mature enough for hardware gateways), so maybe that's why I don't fully understand the problem. Is it difficult to kill the daemon at the right time, process ussd and restart the daemon?
