How to send traffic from hotspot to squid?

On Ubuntu, there is a squid3 proxy and ap-hotspot is configured to distribute wifi
. How can I turn the traffic that goes through the hotspot to a proxy?

net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 in /etc/sysctl.conf ?
if not, install and do sysctl -p
