How to select the area between the guides?

Let's say we have 4 guides (2 vertical, 2 horizontal) that divide the image into 9 parts. How to select the central area with one click? The option to use the selection tool and move from one corner to another is not suitable (3 steps versus 1).

Write an add-on that will calculate the coordinates of the points where the guides intersect and select the area bounded by these points. If you make this add-on work on a hotkey, you will also save time.
UPD
Hmm ... Guides can also be placed automatically. Yes, I see great prospects for automating routine actions here.
