How to secretly install a proxy on a computer?

I have physical access to several computers in different locations. How can I install a proxy server on them (maybe I need it?) So that I can connect to them, let's say from my home computer, and work on the network on their behalf (IP address)? Preferably without attracting the attention of the people who will work for them. I hope I correctly stated the essence of the question?) If something is not clear, ask)

Stealth in work is not a problem, because as a rule such programs are launched as services, no windows are visible, nothing can be seen only in processes and in running services.
The problem, most likely, is that you need to have access over the network from the outside to these computers, for this they must have a white IP address and an open port on the proxy, and if it is open to everyone, then they will simply be a nightmare. If these computers are behind a router, then it is necessary to configure port forwarding on the proxy on the PC on the router. The best solution would be a VPN with this computer, or at least an SSH tunnel through which you can forward a port from your local computer to a remote one.
