How to schedule monitoring of Zabbix or Nagios infrastructure?
Good afternoon!
There is a goal to monitor the entire infrastructure. Mostly Windows, although there are also Linux, cisco. I look towards Zabbix or Nagios, because the manual can be found.
Who faced? Need advice. How to plan a list into several parts. And step by step with the manual and google to set up the system.
List like this.
1)config. Sendmail (sending letters to the mail)
2) installation of zabix and initial setup (maybe someone knows the modules necessary to make it easier to google.).
3) etc.
Links to useful materials will be very helpful.
I have no knowledge about the above, so I would like to plan everything. To step by step complete the checklist.
I would be very grateful for any answers.
Thank you!
UPD: As a result, you need to get a working zabbix that will send an email if the server is not available. We are not talking about any services that need to be monitored. It will be done in the future when I figure out its device and work.
The goal is to understand what follows: senmail (postfix), mysql, php. And links to proven and useful material would be a great help.

IMHO now zabbix is head and shoulders above nagios.
about the implementation checklist:
1. Read the docs
2. Install.
3. Set up something that "burns" or often requires attention
4. Deal with notifications (the notification in telegram drives https://github.com/ableev/Zabbix-in-Telegram )
5. Deal with lld ( https://habrahabr. ru/company/zabbix/blog/193460/ )
6. Find templates (ideally with lld) for the necessary systems, equipment (share.zabbix.com and github.com)
7. Configure snmp trap reception (if any)
8. Understand what what to do with fallen happiness and where to go next ( highload.guide/blog/support-highloaded-projects.html )
9. Integrate with grafana ( https://github.com/alexanderzobnin/grafana-zabbix )
10. Hang a huge telly in a conspicuous place and stick to beauty... (well, or display triggers and a map of the network + servers on it :) )
11. Learn the API and its libs in a familiar language
12. Write your own monitoring system with preference and poetesses ( www.slideshare.net/profyclub_ru/i-git-in-sky )
feel free to install zabix, the default templates are enough to start with, after the data accumulates, see what you need, what you don’t need. from the basic that I added for myself the
monitoring of the necessary services and their restart in case of a crash (mysql, 1c)
notifications to the mail
monitoring of network traffic from servers
and this is far from the limit of possibilities
