How to save entered text in android app?

There is a line in which some numbers are entered and there is a button. How to give the button a function so that when pressed, it saves these numbers and that when you exit the application, they are still shown there. I saw a lot of videos where people saved this text, but it only appeared when they clicked on the buttons to call this text. But how can I make it so that I can save it once and not call anything, but so that it hangs there until I remove it?
