How to save an image in Adobe Illustrator according to its size?

I usually work in Photoshop, but then I came across a layout in illustrator, in Photoshop you turn off the bottom layers of the background for the icon, for example, and copy the icon, open a new document, it fits the size of the icon along its borders, how to do the same in illustrator?

There are several ways. Each has its own shortcomings.
1st way:
1. Select an object.
2. Menu: Select / Inverse.
3. Ctrl+3 (in the menu Object / Hide / Selection).
4. Ctrl+Shift+Alt+W (Save For Web), "Clip to Artboard" - remove. Save in the required format.
5. Cancel hiding objects (eg via Undo or Show All - Alt+Ctrl+3).
Disadvantage:
- If there are locked layers/objects, they will not be selected by Select / Inverse.
2nd way:
1. Select object, Ctrl+C.
2. Create a new document (Ctrl+N), Ctrl+V.
3. Menu Object / Artboards / Fit to Selected Art.
4. Ctrl+Shift+Alt+W.
5. Close the document.
Flaw:
- Can slow down when creating a new document.
3rd way:
It differs from the previous one only in that it is not necessary to create a new document,
and at the end you need to cancel Fit to Selected Art in order to restore the dimensions of the Artboard.
But:
Disadvantage:
- If there are other objects (or background) within the boundaries of the object, they will also be saved.
4th way:
1. Select object, Ctrl+C.
2. Switch to Photoshop.
2. Create a new document (Ctrl+N), Ctrl+V.
And then save as needed.
Disadvantages:
1. Need Photoshop.
2. Can't automate with Actions.
5th way:
Through Slices.
Disadvantage:
- saves only in jpg (?).
