How to save a white color logo on a transparent background in Illustrator for printing in pdf?

Stupid newbie question. I save the pdf, open it and see a white sheet. Is there a white logo or is it merged with the background? The background in the chandelier is missing and set to transparent. Needed to print on a black T-shirt, for example. Or is this done not in pdf, but in eps? I will be grateful for help.

If in doubt, open this PDF in Illustrator and everything will immediately become clear.
Please ask the printer directly (or the customer) for suitable file formats. It is possible to print and PDF, and EPS, and many other formats, but the requirements may differ for each.

It is done like this. To make the logo visible, make a colored background on a new layer. Just in case, uncheck "Print" in the parameters of this layer.
