How to run X without a monitor?

Hello.
I have an ARM single board computer (Banana Pi). I would like to start firefox, put the file on download and, turning off the desktop from which I remotely connect, and go to sleep. Is it possible to run X without a monitor, so that later I can connect remotely? It’s just that if you do ssh -X, then, as I understand it, I won’t be able to turn off the desktop, since firefox will close in this case. That is, I wanted to use a banana as a server so that it would work on its own, but there is no analogue of transmission remote gui for downloading via ftp.

Purely for torrents - transmission-daemon with a webmord or cli client or rtorrent in screen and autoloading torrents when a .torrent file enters the appropriate directory.
For downloading via http/ftp - wget has already been advised.
If you need a remote desktop, you can use Xvnc, about which there are several articles, but I do not recommend it for RPI, because there is not enough memory for a terminal server these days.
