How to run Ubuntu 14.04 on a laptop?

Hello.
I had this problem: I needed to reinstall Ubuntu 14.04 on a Thinkpad S430 laptop. The installation was successful without any errors in the process. But when I restart the PC, it seems that even grub does not load. Immediately after the splash screen of the laptop, a black screen falls out with a blinking cursor that does nothing and does not respond to any keys. The behavior looks like the system is trying to boot from a disk that does not contain a boot partition. For the purity of the experiment, I installed the system on another hard drive - the same picture. Before that, I installed Ubuntu 14.04 on this laptop several times and there were no such problems. At the same time, the system boots correctly from the flash drive.
Can someone suggest how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

If a flash drive is used for installation, during installation you need to make sure that Grub is written to the internal disk. Although, even if I explicitly specify the Grub disk, for some reason it was still put on a USB flash drive. And it was possible to boot the OS only if a USB flash drive was connected to it. Then I had to manually restore the bootloader so that it was installed on the hard drive, and not on the flash drive.

Try downloading the image to removable media again and try again.
