How to run javascript code (file) in browser console?

I have a .js script (file) on my media that I need to run for the page. As an extension, it definitely works, but I need to run it through the good old F12. So, I tried to run it through the Chrome browser - I opened the console, went to the Sources, Filesystem tab, indicated the folder with the script - he saw it. But the script didn't run. Some rubbish in the debugger stopped the process. But I'm not at all sure that I did the right thing.
