How to rip DVD?
Friends, I understand that the question is quite ... simple ... But I spent half a day reading various copy-paste articles and got tired of wasting time.
Task: just rip a DVD image in iso format. So that the file was one and occupied, say, not 4.1GB, but 700MB (the DVD is very old, shooting 10 years ago in low resolution).
No other tricks are needed. What software is the easiest and fastest way to do this? Thanks in advance!
Those. I ask for recommendations of some free software that can shrink DVD to 700MB

A DVD is not an AudioCD, it just contains structure files and video files. And if the disk is yours, then most likely they are not encrypted. If encrypted - just open it for viewing in any player.
Then take the largest file and in any program that supports video transcoding, you compress it into a modern format (for example, video with the h264 codec, and sound in mp3).
An example program is Adobe Premiere, but there are many simpler options.
Is it worth it to make an ISO - decide for yourself. But if you hope to watch it on the "player" - then they are now omnivores, they just find the file and show it. If you press it back to DVD, then there is no point - either the size will remain the same, or the quality will be full d. And most importantly, 700 megabytes will lie on a 4.7 GB disk. Because DVD-Video is only on DVD...
