How to restore the speed of the Firebird database after a looped Insert?
Wrote a looped insert in ib expert violating the following rule:
"It is acceptable to select from the same table into which rows are inserted, but this practice is not recommended, since such actions can lead to endless row inserts (loops)."
The insert got stuck and ibexpert hung, I removed the task (commit did not happen), the table generator shows 7 million, and there are 20 records in the table. At the same time, everything works, but the table has become terribly slow (both through ibexpert and through the program that works with this database).
The base has increased from 2 gigs to 6 gigs.
What to do to return the normal speed of the table?
