How to restore the file and not repeat the same mistakes in the future?

I record the m3u8 stream to an mp4 file using ffmpeg, to stop recording I press the "Q" button in cmd, everything is saved as expected. And if you just close the window, a broken file is saved that cannot be opened. Is it possible to restore it somehow? Maybe it's better to save it in some other format. Thanks in advance!!!
