How to restore ext4?

Accidentally made a mistake with the letter and wrote the iso image to the hard disk (HDD), instead of a flash drive. How can I try to restore files or the file system itself?

There are good chances of recovering user data if the size of the image for the flash drive is less than the size of the first partition /. User data usually begins to be supplemented only after the full installation of the OS. So, only the data of the OS itself was overwritten.

If the size of the image is noticeably smaller than the disk - then data recovery programs.
If the size of the image is approximately equal to the disk - nothing :) everything is overwritten.
