How to restart network interfaces on Debian 9 without touching the accel-ipoe session?
Good afternoon! There is a server with accel-ppp on board, it holds several thousand sessions from clients. Sometimes it becomes necessary to add/remove/correct a network interface without rebooting the machine itself. Using systemd tools like sudo systemctl restart networking.service is not an option, since the server first starts to extinguish all network interfaces, including ipoe client sessions, and only then will raise them. The process takes a very long time. In /etc/init.d/networking the lo interface is excluded from network restart. Is it possible to exclude all interfaces that are called ipoe.xxxx in the same way?

Surely it would be better to arm yourself with scrollMagic, perhaps + GSAP, and do everything yourself.
as for me, you won’t find it, and if you find something at least 70% covering your requirements, then in the end, reworking the remaining 30% for yourself in a place with a search will take much more time than writing everything yourself.
After configuring the new interface in /etc/network/interfaces
( /etc/network/interfaces.d/*
), execute ifup имя-интерфейса
. ifdown имя-интерфейса
put it accordingly.
