How to reset the root password of a Linux VM on Proxmox?

There is an Ubuntu VM that is running on Proxmox, the root password is lost. Only the way for containers or the way to hold shift when starting the machine is googled. How to get into boot options? Or are there other ways?

Boot from Unintu live cd, mount virtual hard disk partition.
Edit /etc/passwd then /etc/shadow

You cut the disk from the virtual machine to another and change the password to the desired one, then the disk back

and google "how to reset the Linux password" is not fate?

Just like any other linux - exit to the boot menu, add "single" or "emergency" to the command line to start the bucket, mount the files, if not mounted, change the password.
Or (which is faster) - booting from the LiveCD image, mounting the root of the machine, replacing the hash in /etc/shadow with one that is known in advance.
