How to request less/more money on upwork?

A project with a fixed payment, in the course of work, we agreed with the client to pay less than stated. When I sent a payment request, I wrote a new amount, but the first amount is still written on the in review tab. How to change a payment?

and you didn’t try to talk about it with the client, as far
as I remember, it was always allowed to reduce the cost of work for a freelancer, but only the customer can increase the cost.
