How to request access to a private repository in bitbucket?

I am a beginner and just signed up to bitbucket. I was asked to request access to a closed repository and was given a link to it, but when I try to follow it, I get a page that says Access denied
Return to the previous page or go back to your dashboard. In the search, you will only see how to restrict access to your repository or give access to it. I didn't find anything about queries. Thanks in advance for the tips.
