How to replace HDD in VMWare "server"?
I am just starting to work with virtualization systems, so I ask for the help of those who know!
The situation is the following. I got a "server" from the former administrator on which the VMWare 5.5.0 hypervisor is installed and 3 guest OSes are running (2008R2x2 and 2003R2 SP2).
The "server" in this case is:
Motherboard: ASRoock z68 Pro3 Gen3
CPU
: i3-2100 3.1 GHz
RAM: 8GB
HDD: 500 Gb Seagate Barracuda
does not inspire confidence. Immediately, my fears were confirmed, performance problems were found during the work of users. In particular, 1C with a file database starts for a very long time when loading ...
The option of buying a normal server was temporarily rejected, they promised from next year ...
Therefore, it was decided to replace this miracle of the screw. And the transfer of virtualization to RAID 1, 2 Western Digital RE 2TB 7200rpm
were purchased for this.
But now the question has become how to do it all better. And therein lies my problem.
I have already read mountains of information about replicating a VM to another server, replacing screws and migrating back, but there is no iron for this idea.
Now I'm studying the Veeam Backup & Replication documentation, since there is a trial for 30 days, but it's not entirely clear to me how best to do this.
Would love to hear from people in the know!
Thank you in advance!

Make a raid1 array, mount it in vware, and transfer data to it. Can be transferred using veeam software
Raid is good, only 1s download speed will not fix it, the database weighs 600-700 and even more mb, and all this volume must be transferred over the network when loading. Switching to RDP or sql will help here, if the budget allows)
