How to replace a wi-fi router transparently for users?

There is a configured Zyxel keenetic Giga II router. You need to replace it with a Zyxel keenetic Lite II router. In order not to force all users to reconfigure the connection, I made the same SSID and password. But the devices do not connect to the new router. Could this be due to the fact that users logged in using the WPS button when they first connected?
How to transfer settings correctly so that users connect to a new router without additional settings?

In fact. I changed routers both at home and at work many times. Models from different manufacturers, Zuxel changed to D-Link. Always set the old SSID and password. WPS was not used. Neither colleagues nor neighbors connecting to my network even noticed the change of pieces of iron. My network devices (printers, laptops, tablets) both worked and work without changing the settings. I believe that your problem is just in WPS.

change the mac address of the lite to the same as that of the Giga II on the wlan interface, though I don't know if he will do that.
I did this on mikrotik, it worked for once, of course, I also transferred the SSID and password.

made the same SSID and password

And the same type of encryption? It worked for me. If the encryption is incorrect, it was not picked up.
The WPS button is a slippery thing, most likely because of it's problem.
The password for the WiFi network when using WPS will be...
