How to rename a host in vCenter?

Of course, the question is stupid, and it doesn’t bother me too much, but I would like to figure it out.

When I added a host to vCenter, I specified not a name, but an IP address. And so it was added with a name in the form of an IP address. There are no problems, everything is fine, except for one thing - how to rename it now? I did not find it in the thick client or in the web face. Do not climb directly into the base? This could be risky...

It cannot be renamed. Because this is not a line in the vCenter interface, but the hostname by which vCenter accesses the host. Accordingly, if you want to name the host somehow differently, then just delete it, make sure that this host is accessible over the network by the new name, and add it again to vCenter with a new name. Nothing will happen to virtual machines during this time, they will work.

And if you bring it out of vCenter and enter it by name?
