Hello!
How to remove the marked line (contour), thereby forming a single contour?

With both objects selected, drag across this strip with the Shape Builder Tool (shift+M)

1. Select one of the curves, select the "Scissors" tool on the toolbar or hotkey C
2. Poke the scissors on the selected curve in places where the future junctions of the two curves should be
3. The curve is divided into several segments, delete the extra ones using DEL or Backspace (correct me if I'm wrong). P. 1-3 you do with the second curve
4. Select two points on one side of the connection (one from one curve, the other from the other), press the right button, the item "connect".
