How to remove old network printers?

We plan to assign printers through GPO.

The problem is that we will rename them, the old connected ones must be deleted.
And all this would be done at once.
Trouble is that renaming printers on a print server will cause the rest to fail.

Yes, no problem. If everything is done correctly, then first, for printers that need to be deleted or renamed, we cancel distribution through group policies, then we disable sharing and publishing in AD, after which the printer can be deleted on the print server or renamed. After renaming, we do everything in the reverse order: enable sharing, enable publishing in AD, enable distribution using group policy, edit GPP - so that printers who need to become the default.
