How can I remotely connect to a desktop if the computers are on different subnets or in different countries?

I will add that in cases of VNC and RDP, computers need an external IP (the one to whom they will connect)
if Teamviewer is unnecessary, but the free version has time limits.

Install Teamviewer on both computers.

For linux, VNC is usually used if a graphical desktop is needed.
