How to reinstall virtualbox?

How to reinstall Virtualbox? They say to remove dkms, then virtualbox will install it as a dependency. Is it possible so? Or will I have to rebuild the kernel?

2) What kind of Linux? For example for apt-oriented:
apt-get install --reinstall virtualbox.
