How to reduce the size of one of the partitions and increase the other in gparted?

I have a partition /home (sda11) with free space and /var(sda7) that needs to be enlarged.
When installing ubuntu, each of these partitions was given space.
It was only possible to reduce /home, unallocated space appeared, but if you try to resize, this most unallocated space does not appear (that is, the partition can only be reduced), it appears only for /home.
It is necessary to increase /var without deleting it.

1. Boot from USB flash;
2. In gp (gnu parted - it is pre-installed), unmount the partitions you need to change;
3. The next section with the one in which direction you need to increase the required one, first reduce it,
highlighting the place from the right end;
4 all this as a procedure to fix (confirm the operation) and periodically repeat during session
5. I.e. You should get an unallocated and unallocated chunk with a section to expand
6. Expand it. Sections for reduction-expansion must stand side by side and have the same type, then they will have a "transparent" border and you can change
==========
a little differently if the partition / (root) lies in the primary partition ( primer), and /home in logical (extended). Then manipulate inside the extended section
(gently select all of it with the mouse -- (the border will be highlighted))...
