How to reduce and save png in palette + alpha channel format?

There are several thousand png images in palette + alpha channel format. It is necessary to reduce all these images and resave in the same format. The problem is that photoshop cannot work with this format and converts the image to 32 bits, and the image reduced by ~3 times takes even more than the original one. No pngout can convert the resulting image to palette+alpha format.
Are there any free programs that can crop / reduce / save png in this format?
