How to redirect the user from the root of the site to the desired page?

There is a /pyth/to/site/ folder, it contains the sitedir site folder and the standard Apache stub.
If you type [sitename].ru into the browser, a stub will pop up. The site is accessible through [sitename].ru/sitedir
How to make it so that when visiting [sitename].ru the visitor gets to [sitename].ru/sitedir
