Where to start learning image/letter recognition in pictures?
Let's say I have letters perfect like

BUT

How to recognize it? Where to start, what algorithm to use? Read the image pixel by pixel and build a matrix where 0 - white pixel 1 - dark? What's next, how to analyze the data. Whether to analyze colors or angles, or something else? If there are good articles for beginners please share.
