How to raise VPN on linux from a router?

I have an asus router. On it I set up vpn and made it a vpn
server On the debian server (vpn client) I added a tunnel via pptp. Now on the server I can access the network from a different ip ...
Question: can I somehow raise dns on this ip (on the ip that I received from the router)? Or can I somehow send mail through port 25 using the ip address of the router?
And where can I read about all the ip features that I raised through vpn? And I only know how to use them as a proxy
