How to quickly identify changing users at the computer?

There is a magic computer, to which different workers approach and enter different desired values (package weights) into the web interface. Will the esteemed All tell you how to quickly identify these workers (taking into account the web-oriented interface)? A login-password is not needed, the employees themselves are interested in the entry being recorded in their name.

So far, I'm looking at smart cards, but it's not easy to attach them to the web.

UPD 1: How many employees: 10-20.

UPD 2: A barcode scanner is not very suitable, because there will already be one on the car. You can distinguish them by prefix, of course, but I would not want to.

1) You have already mentioned smart cards - you only need the appropriate browser plug-in, but if nothing else remains - a normal industrial solution.
2) But it is much easier to attach a barcode scanner to the web, because they usually work like a keyboard. We stick barcodes on badges for employees. The employee went to the terminal, scanned his badge (that is, in fact, the scanner entered his login!), then manually entered the number into the interface.
3) If there are not so many employees on one computer, but, say, 5 * 5 = 25, then you can stupidly draw a clickable grid on the entire screen with avatars for each in the web interface. If the grid is 5 * 5, then it will be quite difficult to miss. Plus, you can arrange competitions by placing Stakhanovites in the center of the grid, etc.

google:flash qr code reader + webcam + ID anywhere on the employee. The fastest and easiest solution to implement.

RFID scanner and a card for each employee with an RFID tag. Recently did this in our account.
The profit is that more often there is no need to even apply: just go up.

A couple of times I saw how 4-digit pin codes are used in such cases. Quickly, a stranger from the street can no longer use the equipment. Not as secure as in the case of using smart cards, but there is nothing to break and you cannot lose the pin code.

Smart cards. It's not easy - I doubt it.
No browser plugins required.

Try RFID + RFID Reader.
An alternative is to hang the barcode scanner next to the PC.
Fast, simple, no drivers needed (both USB devices work like a keyboard).

Isn't it easier to directly add stupid buttons with the names of employees to the "home screen" directly in the web interface?
He came up, poked at the button and went to enter data + auto-return by timeout to this “initial screen” with buttons. And you don’t need any additional equipment and dances with a tambourine.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
