what's stopping you from going in and seeing what kind of work they're posting? they are public and do not hide anything.

You can earn from $2k and up, but you have to be a good WP specialist (this includes being a good PHP specialist + fumbling full stack, devops and a lot of related - freelancing, after all) and work hard. You also need to be Top Rated with maximum JSS. The fastest way to get there is a large, long-running hourly project with a tracker.
