How to put a discord bot on a VPS?

I bought myself a vps and installed a ptera, now I'm wondering how else to put my bot on discord.py there. I didn't find any documentation about this.

Like any python application. If without docker, then upload to the server, install dependencies, configure supervisor to work in the background.
