How to purge clamav from server?

Removed Clamav from my CentOS 6

yum remove clamav*
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
No Match for argument: clamav
No Packages marked for removal

(I don't have mail services on the server) however, messages keep pouring into /etc/logs/messages
tail messages

periodically filling up the entire disk. How to stop this mess?
