How to provide all students with virtual machines for developing a project on Django?

Hello.
We have allocated a virtual machine on the server.
We rolled Ubuntu there.
Raised SSH.
Now the task is this. In the laboratory we have computers that have pycharm .
Can we somehow work under pycharm and have everything on a remote server, including virtualenv.
How to properly break everything into 17 people?
Now created 17 users. Everyone has an account.

In my opinion, it was more correct to make 17 containers. LXC/OpenVZ. On any KVM virtual machine will rise.
You will tell students how to set up the environment? So let everyone learn on their own.

Why don't you like the git? I would generally put a gitlab there and the virtual machine would be "production", students have a local copy of the repository and their own branches. They send merge requests, it is convenient for the teacher to do a code review. Everything is positive)
