How to protect computers from ransomware viruses and hdd death? What software do you recommend?

In general, there are computers with windows 7 and 10. And the server is 2012.
You need to somehow transfer the user files from the computers to the server so that the encryptor and the death of the hard drive do not kill them. Is there a simple free program for this?

Keep the file storage on a network drive on the server, and not randomly on the computers of users, and archive it there on another physical disk where users do not have access rights. The administrator is responsible for the safety of files on the server. If a user keeps something on his computer, these are his problems and his risks. Something like this.

Problem/solution:
- Hard drive failure - RAID array.
- Encryptor - shadow copies.
- Transfer user files to the server - roaming profiles when deploying Active Directory.
- Failure of the entire server (fire, falling out of a window, lightning strike) - remote server, IPSec tunnel on routers and DFS replication.
In addition to RAID - all other terrible words - are included in Server 2012 and "free".
