How to properly sync dropbox?

Greetings.
There is 1TB on dropbox. And there is my large working folder on the computer with a bunch of subfolders.
How do I get this whole big folder to sync with dropbox?
Now I select "location" in the settings and he wants to create a dropbox folder in my folder, but I need him to consider this large folder of mine as his home and synchronize it.
Is there a way to do this without moving the big folder to the dropbox folder? Or will you have to transfer everything to one dropbox folder and only then will synchronization be set up?
and what if I need to add to synchronization not only my large working folder, but also 2 more folders?
And in general, is it worth setting up the synchronization of the working folder? I'm in design and I'm afraid of losing all my work.
Or can you recommend something more logical and convenient?
Thank you)

Only folders that are in the Dropbox folder are synchronized, so you need to transfer your folder to it.
About two more folders, you can of course make "hard links" (NTFS allows this), but in Windows this is not very obvious and in fact you will have two more folders in the Dropbox folder (although physically they will be in a different place).
