How to properly set up a virtual machine in Azure?

Good day. The other day I moved the site from parking.ru to Azure. I took a virtual machine, the simplest tariff (768 MB of RAM). Feels like the site began to work much slower. If in the parking lot the pages opened instantly, then in azure you have to wait about a second.

Is this possible because the parking is in Moscow time, and azure is in northern Europe? Or could I misconfigure something? In Azure, I just installed IIS and put the project on it. Site on asp.net mvc, ms sql base. How to win? Are there any guides for setting up vm in azure?

Most likely, you have selected the A0 virtual machine. Its peculiarity is that the kernels are shared. I recommend trying A1, for example, in Basic mode, which is 27% cheaper than Standard (due to the fact that automatic load balancing and scaling are not enabled).
For example, we transferred our site techdays.ru from hosting to Azure, which ultimately gave us a win both in terms of accessibility and price.
