How to properly organize DNS in virtualbox?

I configure N machines in virtualbox.
You need to raise all DNSs on them so that they see each other as machinename.local, and outside you can go to them as machinename.trololo.ru

Obviously, you need to raise the DNS server (dnsmasq, bind9 or something more extravagant). But all articles about this only talk about how to raise DNS on the host machine.
I would like the DNS nickname to be one of the virtual servers and deploy with them.

Are there any technical limitations that make this idea impossible? Maybe I'm missing something?

There are no restrictions on the appearance of DNS in a virtual machine.
