How to properly install Ubuntu on Virtual PC?

Hello. Downloaded Virtual PC and official iso ubuntu 14.04.
I connected the iso to the virtual machine, chose the installation in the boot menu, after which a screen with a cursor appears and ... silence. Nothing happens at all.

I don't know what the problem is. Host: win 7x64, allocated 3000 MB of RAM.
PS I tried to install on VirtualBox, the installation went well there, but I could not overcome rendering brakes. On the virtual pc, during the boot menu, the brakes were not noticed, which bribed.

put virtualbox, and in the guest ubunt virtualbox driver.
In the repository, these are packages
virtualbox-guest-dkms
virtualbox-guest-x11 (if you use gui)
option 2: install from the isoshnik attached to the virtualbox, it will take more time.
promise almost "hardware" 3D in the guest video card. didn't try.
