How to properly install sphinx 3.0 on the server?

Hello! Tell experienced colleagues how to properly install sphinx 3.0.3 on a CentOs 6.9 server. I downloaded the tar.gz archive from offsite. There's no configure file, make doesn't work, it looks like it should work without installation. In which folder on the server then it is better to define it and make it autorun after the server is rebooted?
