How to properly configure layout switching in Gnome 3 under Ubuntu 14.10?
Hello!
I installed Gnome 3.12.2 instead of Unity in Ubuntu 14.10 (Utopic) and ran into an extremely strange problem: after a while, Alt + Shift layouts stop switching - more precisely, they switch only once (!), And so, for example, after switching from English to Russian to switch back to English, you first have to change the active window. Moreover, hotkeys that use the Shift+Alt combination (for example, Shift+Alt+< in emacs) do not work.
The problem seems to be related to the demonibus
, after the removal of which everything seemed to fall into place, but not quite - switching layouts using Alt + Shift broke completely, only Win + Space works, but this is unusual and inconvenient. In Unity, everything worked as it should, and I want to return to this (without returning to Unity itself).
The question is: how can I correctly configure the switching of layouts in the Gnome Shell + Ubuntu bundle?
I temporarily solved the problem by disabling the Gnome keyboard manager and using X.org layouts, but I want to do everything right - so that there is integration with Gnome (the indicator does not work now, etc.).
