How to programmatically recognize windows of another application on macOS?

I want to write a program for MacOS that performs certain actions in a third-party application by simulating keystrokes. Is there any way to keep track of the open windows of this other application? Only through the analysis of screenshots, or is it possible somehow at the system level, conditionally, to get the window descriptor, its position and size?
