How to preview a .doc file on a website?

Hello.
There is an application on Angular.js.
Is it possible to make some adequate preview of .doc .docx files right on the page.
The client wants previews for documents, similar to previews for pictures. Ie hovered the mouse over the link, a window appeared in which the document was loaded.
Is it possible in principle for .doc files? If anyone has done it, please let me know how.

It seems to me the most logical, when loading doc , to convert it to png or jpg , keeping the original. Here comes the preview.
