How to prevent VS code from replacing an open file with an open one?

Visual Studio Code

Situation: several files are open, I enter some string in the search, I open the file from the search and it replaces the current open file. What kind of nonsense? What for? Why?

How can this be prevented?
I want each file to open in a new tab, not replace the current file.
