How to prevent VMWare Workstation from creating a vmem file (it seems to be a RAM image)?

Each time it is run, a .vmem file is created in the virtual machine directory. I have an SSD. How do I set up the VM like this. so that it doesn't create a RAM file on disk?

It seems like nothing.
The fact is that this is a file for RAM, and due to the RAM virtualization technology, certain pages can be cached to disk. And it's at work. And absolutely without this file it will not be possible to suspend the VM.
Move it to another disk. I think this is your path.

swap file can be disabled. I just looked for it myself, haven't tried it yet - https://2150692.ru/faq/13-vmware-vmem
Open the VMX file of the virtual machine in notepad. Append to the end of the file:
mainMem.useNamedFile = "FALSE"
