How to prevent QTextEdit from changing the text font when removed?

Good afternoon! I ran into a problem: I spawn in QTextEdit some text that can be changed, and I set its font and size. When deleting all text from the field, the size and font change to default, but I want to be able to delete all text and enter a new one in the same font. I tried currentCharFormatChanged, but nothing happened, the font is reset when all characters disappear and does not want to resume. Tell me, please, in the direction of what to look and how can this be done?

Only not when spawning text in textedit, but when rendering textedit itself
