How to prepare layouts for printing for a freelancer?
Hello!
I came across such a question, because I don’t know how to do the prepress correctly. I don’t want to let customers down and make a design that is unrealistic for manufacturing. On the Internet, everything is in fragments, which I really don’t like, confusion in my head.
Do I need to do the prepress remotely, or in any case, the layout will be prepared correctly in the printing house and it’s better not to interfere?
Perhaps there are some basic rules for preparing layouts that will be enough to calmly say goodbye to the customer?
Are there any books/courses that give a basic understanding of prepress?
PS: going to work in a printing house is a good idea, but only our salaries are beggarly, and the cost of housing and food is like that of kings.

There is nothing complicated there)
Many printing houses already have requirements for layouts on their sites, and if not, you can google it. I
have
been
designing printing for a very long time) I write what I remember: requirements - you can make 1.5-2mm)
3. CMYK color separation
4. Image resolution - 300 pixels. per inch
, in theory, in a good printing house there should be people who can finalize the layout for printing, just for such cases, so this should be enough
only to send in the right format, definitely not jpeg and png ))
