How to practice Ruby / RoR ?

I finished reading the book "Flanagan D., Matsumoto Y. - The Ruby Programming Language", I take up "Rails 4. Agile web application development",
the question is - what to do next?
On Ruby - I practice at the university (now I only do labs on it), but I realize that this is a school level, but I can’t come up with more serious tasks for myself.
There is one idea with a large portal, but it is unlikely that it will be possible to start it right away on the rails.
Developers with experience - share how you went to calmly declare "I'm good at RoR"?

The book has practice for 14 chapters, I think. In parallel, you can start to implement your project. I made a blog aggregator (parsing rss every 30 minutes) even before reading this book, now I have finished transferring a simple site to Rails, and when I looked at the aggregator code, I cried bloody tears. I will rewrite.
In a word, if you have ideas, take them. Then you will redo it ten times, improve and update, and you will have practical experience.

And after a book and a couple of my small projects, I recommend contacting a mentor for further more effective pumping.
